Fisheries associated with estuaries, mudflats and
sandflats not covered by seawater at low tide
A variety of fisheries and associated methods take
place in estuaries and on the mudflats and sandflats
which are exposed by the tide. Of these, molluscan
shellfisheries are considered most prevalent and
are considered below. The other fisheries and methods
that may occur are described in the sections on
